So I am getting close to retirement and want to travel a bit without worrying about stuff left around the house. I have some factory ammo of different calibers and will probably never shoot it up. How should I figure what a good price for it should be when I go to sell it?

230 grain hydrashocks in 20 round boxes.

230 grain American eagle in 50 round boxes

couple of spam cans of 762x 54

Black talon 45 and 9mm

Corbon 9mm

Just a start, and I need your opinion of what is fair. Or should a man hold an auction on it??

thanks

jj

Pm me if you want to sell the Black Talon 9mm. How much do you want for it? In original boxes? Do you know what I'd have to do to buy ammo over the internet from a private party? I don't want to do anything wrong here but I'm assuming you can sell it as guys sell it on gunbroker.

gunbroker has an ammo section that you could browse and get an average for the type and caliber you are selling.

Here is what I would pay. What I would pay might be different than what someone else would pay:

$15@ (I am guessing .45ACP): 230 grain hydrashocks in 20 round boxes.

$18@: (I am guessing .45ACP) 230 grain American eagle in 50 round boxes

$0 (I don't use this) couple of spam cans of 762x 54

Maybe $.70/rd: Black talon 45 and 9mm

(can't tell without the loading) Corbon 9mm

NUTS!!

There is some 9mm Black Talon in a 20 round box on Gunbroker right now for $62 with 12 min left in the auction. That is more than $3 a round for 9mm.

"230 grain American eagle in 50 round boxes"

I just got back from the largest gun store in the area. AE 115 gr. 9mm is $15.99 and they have quite a few cases of it. I didn't look for any .45 because I've been stocking up for 10 years or so.

I hadn't been in there in a few weeks and they have more ammo than guns. They've been slammed with business and they've been busy since '72 when I started shopping there. It's unbelievable. Their usual 4,000 guns must be 2,000 now.

They have some Prvi Partizan 62 gr. MATCH .223 and people are buying it at $700+ per 1000. Not me.

7.62x 54 spam cans ( if they are 440 rds) can be found between 80 and 90. I bought one for $84 yesterday, i will buy them from you if you are interested and on the chance that you are within driving distance. PM me if you want to.

I am also interested in the spam cans of 7.62x54r. The going rate is $80 or so. (I have seen prices range from $66 at wholesalers to $125 at small stores).

I saw that but there are also ones that are much cheaper. Let me know on the Black Talons though as I am pretty interested if the price is right and they are original in the original box.

The 'spam' cans of 54r at Knob Creek MG shoot were priced at about $130 IIRC.

I started laughing, because mine cost $45 about two years ago.

Chris in Va , thats nothing compared to the $179 + tax i seen them for in Springdale AR at a gun show last month.

and yes that was for 440 cans , not 880.
