I just picked up a very nice #1 in .45-70--nice wood and bluing and it's in great shape overall and I think was very well cared for (also not shot very much, I don't think).
However, I've noticed a slight rattling in the receiver when I shake it a bit (for example, shaking it side to side while holding onto the stock). I haven't shot it yet, and the action seems to be fine, but I was curious to see if any of you with #1s have the same thing happening. In other words, is this normal?
There's nothing in the chamber and nothing loose on the outside; it sounds like it's something on the inside of the receiver. It could be normal, but if someone could tell me if theirs does it too (or not) I'd appreciate it.
Thanks!
