Question Regarding a BK&T Kukri

I have a Kukri made by BK&T, marked "BK&T Reinhardt Kukri". On the other side, it is marked Effingham, IL.

I didn't know BK&T was ever in Effingham, IL - I thought that was the original Blackjack Knives' location. Were they both loacted there? Were they affiliated with each other?

Does anyone know what kind of steel this Kukri is made from? BK&T evidently doesn't make a Kukri, anymore.

Your kuk was made by Blackjack when they had the rights to BKT production. It's an outstanding and valuable piece to Blackjack and BKT collectors if in like-NIB condition.

It is in excellent condition, although it has been on a whitewater canoe trip and chopped a few things in the back yard. Any idea what steel it is?
