Questions about cleaning Sig MPX

I bought a new Sig MPX pistol and have a few questions about cleaning.

First, any recommendations for cleaning the chamber? Should I get a chamber brush and mop, and if so what size? Is the 'star chamber' the same dimension as in an AR15 or AR10? Or is there a better tool for cleaning that area?

Second, how often do I need to remove the barrel and clean the gas block/piston/valve?
