I was going to get another red dot but noticed they are starting to get a little blurry for me. Ive read some good things about the Vortex Spitfire AR 1x. How do they compare with red dots for quick target acquisition? Is the quality good? I’ve read a few reports about the illumination flickering but mostly good reviews.

I have the 3x version on an AR pistol and like it alot. I don't use the illumination too much but I use the scope allot.

I have a 3x Spitfire. It works well. Red dot scopes are blurry and unusable for me, so I have to avoid them and have switched to prism scopes. Another nice scope that I use is the Trijicon TR24G. It's been out for some time, but it's a winner, too, and isn't blurry.

The thing that I don't like about the Spitfire 3x is the short eye relief.
