Quick C&R Question

I asked this on a tangent in another thread but it died.

Does it void a firearm's C&R status if a damaged or worn part is replaced with an identical part? How about if it's a serialized part? (not the receiver, obviously).

IIRC M1s are over 50 years old. My question applies to less than 50 year old C&R eligible guns. I'm pretty sure I know the answer but I was curious anyway.

its hard to say. my understanding is "original condition" i dont believe replacement parts would void it. how ever "sporters" do. but im no expert.
