My friend is going to visit Florida.

Since his state's CCW permit is also okay in Florida, he will be "packing" on his vacation.

He wants to visit Kennedy Space Center:

1 -- Would it be okay for him to "carry" on the space center tour with his CCW permit?

2 -- If not, would it be okay for him to at least secure his CCW in his vehicle in the space center parking lot?

Thanks...

tell him to keep an eye out for signs that say something to the effect that no weapons are allowed on the grounds. if there are none, then it should be legal. however, if it is a federal facility, he might want to call and ask without giving his name. some federal areas prohibit wepaons all together. if thats nor the case its not posted anywhere, he shouldn't have to worry about it.

No firearms inside the facility. Firearms left in vehicle are ok.

SPECIAL SECURITY INFORMATION

Due to the military action being taken abroad, Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex has increased security on property. As of this time, the following items are not permitted at the Visitor Complex:

Additionally:

Coolers, luggage or other large bags are not permitted through the front gate.
All bags, purses and other items will be opened and inspected at the Visitor Complex. (Procedures to search all bags carried into the complex by visitors & employees are actions taken as part of the increase in security and not part of a specific threat to our facilities.)
No outside food items are permitted on property.

ON LAUNCH DAY, BACKPACKS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON PROPERTY.

If any of the above items are discovered, you will be asked to return them to your vehicle. If you choose not to return the items to your vehicle, they will be confiscated by Security and will not be returned to you.

Since all guests have to go through the metal detectors, please reduce the number of items you normally carry.

Visitors could face delays entering the park as a result of the searches.

"No ammunition, live or spent". Would someone please attempt to explain to me how a spent ie. discharged round could be considered ammunition?

This is what happens when we allow the uninformed, non-informed & the anti-informed to define the language & thereby
'the rules'.

I'm disgusted, 900F

LOL! CB900F - this is the techno weenies being concerned about unidentified chemical reactions between spent ammo and anything that's laying around due to ?how many years? of various types of rocket propellants being used in the area...there are few things other than sarah brady who are more paranoid than technoweenies!:D

Ahadams;

Oh Lord, the vision came to me of 'Johnny Brasseed' touring the facility strewing handfulls of spent cases in areas where rocket fuel is stored! I just about sprayed my screen with coffee.

The possibility of contact, let alone a reaction, is so vanishingly small that paranoid doesn't cover it. Terminal stupid only comes close. We may have to invent new language here. This could be fun. 900F
