Quick Detach Swivel For M&P15 Sport II?

Hello... I wanted to get a two point sling for my M&P15 Sport II. I see the gas block has a hole for a quick detach sling mount. Anyone know if there is a specific one to get, or are they all Mil-Spec? Thanks. I was thinking of getting a Magpul Two-Point sling, as I saw some on sale locally.

QD cups should be uniform in size and any QD swivel should fit. Magpul makes a nice sling, own a couple myself along with a few Troy V-Tacs.

It has a QD mount on the gas block? Not sure how I feel about that...I put a QD mount on the 11 o clock position of a MOE handguard. Works just fine for me.

Anyway, QD studs are roughly uniform in size. I have run into some that were not uniform and did not lock into a QD mount. But the ones that didn't were usually from a questionable manufacturer. But if you get one from Magpul or some other known maker it should work just fine. The easy and simplest way to test is just put the loop into the hole and tug on it. If it stays, good. Put the sling on.

Ruger used to do that as well on their 16" upper, maybe they still do. I have one where the gas block, QD mount and front sight is all one piece.

I have witnessed at least one instance where the QD hole was not deep enough to allow the connector to lock. The S&W should be fine and as long as you use a reputable connector you should be good. It is easiest to test it first as described though just to be sure.

I have the Magpul two point sling (MS1?) as well and I like it a lot.
