no reason, my colt just feed round ball fmj well. don’t feel like re-testing and suchAny particular reason you want FMJ? The cheapest I use to shoot was Berry's plated.
I shoot mainly MBC BE#1 and BE#2, coated or not. 45acp is not known for causing leading in a barrel, just run the soft BHN 9-10 and you want have any problem. All it takes to clean my barrel is a couple of patches on a jag.
my Colt hates coated bullets, it gets stuck in the chamber and I had to use a hammer to punch the slide back to remove a live stuck roundAnother good option is a Hitek coated bullet from somewhere like Acme. Your gun will never know the difference. But your wallet certainly will.
