My son has a Rem 870 20 gauge. Production date is 1961. Its the full size reciever (same as 12 gauge). I'm ordering the Outers youth stock in synthetic for him as a Christmas gift but its only available in 12 gauge size. I know the stock will fit but I need to know if the forend will fit the 20 gauge with the difference in mag tube size.
Thanks in advance,
Chris

Thanks Preacherman.
I looked at the Hogue as well. (both at Cabelas). The only problem with using the stock alone is the fact that he loves the look of my synthetic 870 12. (hes 14 and likes the whole "tactical" black thing. eh, he'll grow out of it I'm sure) The forend he has is a very nice hand checkered wood and the synthetic parts should prove to be a bit more durable in the hands of a young hunter in the woods.
The Outers and the Hogue are only $37 but it appears that the Outers comes with the forend. Teen-aged boys grow like weeds so I'll probably only need two years of service out of the youth stock, if that.
Thanks again,
Chris
