"Quiet" ammo.

Airguns are a work around when there is no 22 to be found, like the Obama Shortage and now the 'Rona/Wuhan Flu Shortage. But, some of us :) have been buying 22 ammo for years and I have more than the CCI factory does in stock, I should probably not say how much!

Gosh, 20 years ago at Attwoods they were running Winchester Wildcat on sale for like $2.99 per box of 50. Not super good price but okay. I grabbed a couple of bricks on a lazy afternoon while my wife got some other stuff we had come for. At check out the girl rang the bricks up for $2.99! I, being honest, immediately told her that there were ten boxes per brick! She retorted the price was $2.99. I again told her to check the price and since a line was forming the manager on duty comes over in a huff while the checkout clerk annoyed at me tapped her feet to show her displeasure. The manager said, "do you want them or not" and not wanting to argue any more, I looked at her in disbelief and again the manager now also in a huff told me to make my mind up! So I bought them and while we were on the way to the truck I started steaming (slow temper) and told my wife I will be right back. I went back in, got a couple of shopping carts and loaded every brick they had and it was a huge pile. I again went to the checkout, the only clerk there and as if she had no memory again checked them all out at $2.99 per brick! Come Monday I called Attwoods home office and told them and asked them what they wanted me to do and they said basically to enjoy the ammo. So, it formed the basis of my current collection/inventory though I already had a bunch even at that time.

I want a PCP badly, one that makes around 50 FPE or more in a .25 caliber, basically double my Steroid .22 392.

edit to add, I think I got my two brain cells backwards, it was more accurately .99 cents I think now.

Jump on in the waters fine... once ya have the gun n pump ya can get a mold n shoot without powder n primers also :p My .22 marauder has harvested 150 plus groundhogs around here 10-65 yards 99 percent one shot... not even going into a hole... I have to play with the .25 marauder more and a airforce condor that I shrouded... I got a dive compressor used and then a scba compressor after that for about scrap price I could not walk away from... the 50 cal DAQ is light enough but isn't quiet .... just another wormhole to dive into :p

Good score on the bricks of .222 and I appaud calling in to inform thehome office...

That would be "operator error", you should be using Super Colibri's in rifles...

I have some pretty good pellet rifles, but I MUCH prefer these,

over any pellet rifle, and that's what I keep my Henry lever 22 loaded with.

I am pretty sure that is what stuck in the barrel of my Savage MKII Target. It has a long 22 inch barrel and the bullet stopped poking out the end. It will clear my 1022 16.5 inch barrel single loaded.

At just 16 FPE that niche in my stable is occupied by my two Benjamin 392 modded .22 pumpers. One is a Steroid and can make 25 FPE and the other I modded and it gets up to 20 FPE. That with Benjamin 13.8 grain .22 pellets. And unlike spring rifles they are light weight, compact and very accurate.

Yes...it is! I’ve used it. It won’t operate a semi automatic reliably. Just do a search. It’s easy to find a 22cal air rifle good for up to 1050fps.

And to the other post about 22cal pellet weight. All you need to do is know how to search.

Here ya go for over 25gr!

Or These maybe? 29.94gr. https://www.amazon.com/Haendler-Nat...eywords=22+cal+pellets&qid=1599082996&sr=8-23

You just said you tried subsonic. You didn't mention any particular product.

They are still loud enough to scare the pajeabers out of a squirrel! Want something somewhat quiet that won't scare a squirrel, how about 30 grains of powder with a roundball in a .50 cal. Squirrels must think its thunder or something. lol

Yeah, ok.. but how quiet are you looking for? I wouldn’t call an air rifle loud even a little bit!

I don’t get the point of wanting absolute silence?? Especially at the cost of power. But then, I’m not a suppressor guy because I think of them as nonsensical. I don’t think of myself living on the set of “Patriot Games“.

I used to be a fudd too and felt the same way. Now I have a few. I don't shoot without them anymore. Nothing wrong with saving your hearing.

I agree:thumbup: Reason I’m always wearing
my SF plugs.

Wait, wait, wait..... I’m a fudd, you’re saying? LOL! You should search my name a bit before making that claim. Maybe I’m wrong though.... Perhaps you meant the “I was a fudd TOO”, as a likening to those out there. But you did point to my feeling this way as being one. So I’m not sure. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt.

Just a little joke. I forgot the

I don't own air rifles so whatever an air rifle could do is meaningless to me. I have used the 710 FPS Quiets to kill dozens of raccoons over the last 6-7 years. Its the perfect match for my bolt action 77/22. One on the X and one to the back of the head when it hits the ground is 100% effective. I have cleaned whole families off the branch because the noise level is low enough where they don't know what is going on.
