Flying is not a constitutionally guaranteed right

Correct, but the TSA is a government agency and thus has no right to infringe on the 1st, 2nd, 4th, or any other Amendment.

The White House Chief of Staff doesn't make law. It would take congressional action to do this. As far as I know, there is no bill pending before congress that would accomplish that.

Why are we in panic mode over a two year old quote?

Because it sheds a little light on the man in the position that has frequently been called Co-President or Gatekeeper to the President. The CoS decides who gets to see the President and when.

And we hate TSA and their near uselessness.

What is the connection?

Take a look at what the Immaculator said, keep people on the no-fly list from buying guns. What is the connection? First, smuggling a gun on an airliner is highly unlikely, so there is no connection here. Second, does anyone really believe that a terrorist would go to Wal-mart to buy a gun for his terrorist activities? Or, does he think that illegal arms importers call the FBI for background checks?

This is beyond stupid. And, guess what? For the foreseeable future, we are going to see this disjointed thinking used to justify "common sense gun laws." Brrrrrr!

Look, it's a political tool speaking to what he considers a safe base. Obama has used him to execute a strategy - he's not going to be a chief play-caller in the administration for more than a few months. The pattern is clear - you use extremists to rally your party, reward them early in office, then jettison them when they draw the deserved flack they will draw. Then you discard them like chaff. This is neither nothing new, nor nothing to worry about. His views have as little chance of becoming policy as does those views of Hillary Clinton. They are tools along the way.

hes a politician if he was addressing nambla he'd work "sex positive" into his speech to the kkk somewthing that lifts their skirt
when their lips are moving...,.

My gun dealer told me about a fellow member of our gun club who was arrested on a traffic stop for having the same first and last name as a wanted fugitive. Every time he goes to buy sell or trade a gun, he gets kicked out on the instant check system for arrest record. He then files an appeal form with a copy of the court record showing he was released because it was a mistaken identity.

The quality of the No-fly list is even crappier than the quality of the instant check system. The idea that our rights should be hostage to official paranoia supported by broken twigs like the no-fly list should be unacceptable.

To be honest i am a little suprised at the submisiveness of some people. Though it should not be that much of a suprise as the more affluent a population gets, the more they are likely to take a load of old rubbish from their government.
Should the government be wasting your time with things that have nothing to do with you? I mean this is getting on to continental europe style government. Ve vant to know vhere you live, you vork, and everysing else about you. And you are the one that has to waste time filling in all the paperwork to prove you are not guilty.
Hang on a minute, isn't it in the US a "innocent until proven guilty" type thing? How can they repeatedly stop you if you are innocent, they have to prove you are guilty and having the same name as some guy who cleans the boots for some guy whose dog pisses in the same spot as the dog of some terrorists ex-wife simply is not proof.

I got annoyed with the restrictions in the US before 9/11, and i am not even american. Now i think i would get a little more than angry. Luckily i have found only two people with my name, one in seattle and 12 year old ballet star (or future or something) from england. So at least i don't have these problems"

Hokay, we've gone from tenuously legal to political...and now to closure. :)

Suffice that Rahm Emmanuel is against private ownership of firearms and has publicly been so since his days in the Clinton administration. Further, he is arrogant and abusive and will say anything to further any item on his agenda.
