I stopped by CZ-Connection on the way home and got a RAMI in .40 S&W. The RAMIs in 9mm were not in the first shipment, so I thought I would give the .40 S&W a try first. It reminds me of my G26 and G33, just a little heavier, but it fits my hand much better (like my PCR).

I'll eventually get one in 9mm, but I'll try this one out for a while:)

PS: Phil has several other RAMIs looking for a home as of late this afternoon.

I handled one of these at the SHOT Show. I'm generally not a big fan of sub-compact handguns, but the RAMI is tres cool.

Let us know how it shoots though!

:)

RE: Pic

Sorry, I have no way of posting a pic, but it looks just like the shotshow pic:

www.outdoorsbest.com/shot...z_ST_0214/

I wear a medium size glove (8.5) and I can just barely rest my pinky on the mag extension, or comfortably place it under the mag, which is how I shoot my G26.

It looks like the RAMIs without the slidestop (or interchangeble?) are scheduled to arrive this summer and the 9mm will follow later too. I haven't heard a definite time on the 9mm arrival (I'm hoping it's way before summer though:rolleyes ), which is why I decided to try the .40 S&W:rollin

Um, im sorry, but this gun looks HUGE!! Not as small as i thought it would be.

Uh Oh.......

I feel reason leaving me and impulse having it's way with me. Did I say soemthing about not buying new models when they first come out?

:D

RE: Size

Not a pocket (or ankle) gun at ~28oz fully loaded and the size of a G26, IMHO. But a very nice IWB gun, just a little smaller than a P01/PCR. For pocket carry I'll stick to my PM9.

That gun is a RAMI?! That looks like it's the size of a P-01! I thought it was going to be a lot smaller.

I'm not so impressed anymore.

Oh, and that seller in Gunbroker - Ton80... he is a lying sack of crap. Don't trust him.

I actually liked the RAMI. It was the 40 as they don't have any 9mm's yet as I was told by the CZ rep. The reason it looks so large is that the lady holding it topped out at about 5'1" with 3" heels on! The Baby Browning would look like a Desert Eagle in her dainty hands.

---- rant mode on ----
What in the heck was up with all the pretty faces at the shot show? I say pretty faces not to demean women, but to point out that they knew NOTHING about guns. The pretty girls all asked the ugly men when I asked them questions. It got to the point that I was ignoring the women and waiting to talk to the ugly men! Many were completely clueless, some were relatives, some were sales associates, some were MODELS and some just didn't make sense at all. Don't get me wrong, I like looking at pretty women as much as pretty guns... maybe more. Problem is, I was there to look at the guns, not the women. I'd much rather talk to Dave from the die-making shop than Sue who works the front desk.
---- rant mode off ----

Hmmmm, maybe if Sue was the one in the die shop... :D

well, even if that lady had liliputian hands, it still looks bigger than i imagined. Way bigger than the KelTec p11 size i had imagined.

RE:

As for George Hill's comment:

"Oh, and that seller in Gunbroker - Ton80... he is a lying sack of crap. Don't trust him."

I've obviously had a different experience with Phil (Ton80) than you have. I purchased my PCR from him, and my RAMI yesterday. Never had a problem with him, I use him to ship/receive guns that I buy and sell, as I'm only 3 miles from his shop. I have seen the 6 RAMIs he got in, they were there yesterday, minus one of course, and a few others were spoken for on a list he was keeping.

But this post isn't about Phil, let's get back to the RAMI :D

Could someone who now owns one please compare them size-wise to a KT P-11 or Kahr K40?

Also... IS that an ambi safety, or am I S.O.L.?

Small is good and all, but I've personally found that anything smaller than the two mentioned above are just TOO small for me to be comfortable with. I can do more concealing with narrower rather than smaller.

Thanks

Well, I don't have one, but one thing is for sure, it isn't going to be flatter than a kahr as it is a double stack gun that will take any cz double stack mag. I still think it is pretty close to a baby glock, it has a 1/2 inch shorter barrell but more beavertail from what I can tell. The originator of this thread PCRit seems to agree with the comparison to a glock 26/27. It doesn't have an ambi safety.
As to ton80, if ya live there and he is your only source, I guess I would buy from there, but if you are ordering the gun online there are plenty of options, already wildalaska is offering a better price than ton80. We don't like ton80 because of blatantly false advertising he has done regarding the rami. I am waiting to see what my local dealer can do for me pricewise, he is usually really low on cz prices, and he does sell online, if it comes up good I will post it here with a link:D........tom

RAMI Arrival!

The long awaited RAMI is finally selling. LIke in Europe. People are saying it feels like a heavier Glock 26. The Limited Edition CZ40-P Limited .40
Compact should be available in March.

My first impression at the SHOT Show was that the pistol is bigger than I thought. But if you look at it, the pistol is smaller only in two dimensions (length and height) unlike a Kahr or Keltec which is also thinner.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the person holding the RAMI in that pic has small hands. The one at the show easily fit in one of my hands, and with a one handed grip left my pinky finger hanging off of the bottom.

But then my hands may be a bit bigger than average, too.

George,

And you said the RAMI would spank the H&K 2000 Compact!;)

Shame on you! Never doubt the power of the H&K. :D
