Ramline synthetic stock for Remington?

how much difference can the swelling of wood stock make in accuracy, also how do synthetic stocks react to a expanding heated barrel, will they change poi the same as wood? ive been looking into a ramline synthetic stock for a rem 788 and wonder if it would do much better than the beech stock on it?
i created a few problems and am hoping glass beding will fix it, but the glass is still curing so in the meantime i thought id ask what the fit and finish on a ramline stock is like? its 88 bucks at midway....good deal?

Unless Ramline has changed their design, you'll be disappointed. The ones I have seen tend to have a rather flimsy flexible forend, at least on the Mauser styled versions.
I've know guys who have glassed the forends in the gaps to tighten them up with mixed results.

If you take and bed your action and free float the barrel a wood stock would be fine.

I vote with NC Smitty, the forends on the Ramline stocks are flimsy.

freefloate, glass bedded...... .949" outside to outside for 3 shots@100yds..... i think i fixed it long time coming

A good synthetic stock will be lighter and tougher than most wood. The Ramline stocks are junk.

While heavier laminated wood may be the toughest stock material as well as one of the least expensive. On a hunting rifle that will be carried a lot a I prefer a good synthetic but a properly sealed wood stock will usually be fine, just heavier than I like.
