Anyone use ramshot powder with there new load manual out some powders look real
Good, but they dont seem as popular, I havent seen a lot of data on them like in
The hornady or other manuals I have

I like them.

Competition is a near twin of WST. (I was shooting some plated 148 gr HBWCs yesterday using Competition. Clay pigeons on the 40 yard berm.)

Zip is a near twin of W-231. Excellent in .45 ACP, as well as other calibers.

True Blue usually gives excellent ES & SD numbers, especially in large cases where other powders can be erratic due to powder position, and meters perfectly. I like it with lead in .45 Colt.

Silhouette is good for 9MM and .40, etc.

Enforcer is good for .357, .41 Mag, .44 Mag, and does very well in .300 BLK.

Good powders.

I concur with all of the able - I've used a lot of Ramshot and been pleased with all of it. My only real complaint is that it used to be a bargain compared to most other brands and it's price now seems to be comparable to its competitors.

Used Big Game for a 200gr Nosler load work up in the 8x57mm. Grouping was 1.5" at best. Didnt get near their velocity. It was cold though, and I havent worked with their powders enough to comment good or bad.

Temp:38-40
200gr Nosler, Ramshot Big Game, OAL 3.10, WLR Primer, Win case. Velocity is average.

46 2261
47 2287
48.5 2357
49* 2386
49.5 2395
50 2441

I'll be using Big Game with the Barnes 160gr TTSX's next trip out in a week or so.

I forgot to mention any of their rifle powders. TAC is some really good stuff.

I have not tried any of their other rifle powders.

True Blue is the only Ram Shot powder I've used and I like it a lot. I've used it in 5.7x28 and many 5.7 reloading "experts" will tell you it's hard to beat unless you stocked up on HS-7 before it was discontinued. I've also used it in 9mm and .45acp with very good results. Accuracy was very good in both, it was clean burning, and recoil wasn't bad even on the high end. It's a ball powder, which if I remember right all Ram Shot powders are so you can expect good metering from a powder measure. 5.7x28 is a tricky caliber to reload for and it's good practice to weigh out each charge for it. Every drop from my Hornady powder measure came out perfect, no trickling. I can't say that for any other powder I've used,, even with there's other ball powders I've used I still run into a .1gr variance from time to time. My only complaint is Ram Shot powders aren't too available locally and while they're still cheaper than most of the competition but I've noticed the prices have gone up about $2/lb when I can find it.

I use a lot of Ramshot Powders, they are ball/spherical and meter like water. They do not suffer from the same temp sensitivity as many of the ball powders of old. If Ramshot was the only game in town it would still be an excellent game.

On my shelf right now I have.
True Blue
Silhouette (WAP)
Tac
X-Terminator/AA 2230
BigGame
Hunter

While I am not one to typically load hot ammo, Ramshot Silhouette has given me excellent velocities with 230 grain jacketed bullets in 45ACP and 124 grain jacketed bullets in 9mm.

I have also used it with 180 Lead round nosed bullets in 40 S&W.

One thing to consider is that Silhouette has a flash inhibitor in the powder. My understanding is that this inhibitor is in the form of yellow flakes and if it does not fully burn, will leave a residue on the inner workings of your auto pistol. It has not caused me any issues with the gun functioning and I am not one to clean guns every time I go to the range.

I use Ramshot Big Game with fantastic results. It is a uniform smooth spherical powder, they meter very very consistent. I have a pound of Hunter I plan on using when I develop my next 180gr 30-06 load.

Ramshot Powder

I reload 9MM & 45ACP, I tried a few different powders for these Calibers before using Ramshot. I will say Ramshot was the Best I could Find for accuracy & ease of use in my Dillon 550B reloader. I have been using Berry Bullets 124 Grain 9MM & 200 Grain 45ACP both SWC. The powder I use in both calibers are True Blue & Silhouette with great accuracy.

Ramshot Enforcer looks and smells like AA#9.

The threshold charge of the primer falling out of Starline 7.62x25mm brass with 110 gr is within 4% between Enforcer and AA#9.

If it looks, smells, and acts like a duck, it's a duck.

I like Silhouette a lot. Great for .45, 9mm and most pistol rounds, and well suited for your self defense loads since it has very little flash to blind you if you have to use it at night.

This comparison has come up in the past. I emailed Ramshot a few years ago and asked if these two powder were indeed the same.

Their answer was, "NO they are no the same powder. Enforcer is slower than #9 and more closely resembles 4100."

Take a look at Ramshots New data page and you will see that #9 is indeed faster than Enforcer, you will also see that Enforcer and 4100 are nearly identical in certain cartridges.

Once everything simmers down and in stock I will probably use Ramshot for all my loadings.

TAC - 223 and 308
Silhouette - 9mm and 380

While I am not one to typically load hot ammo, Ramshot Silhouette has given me excellent velocities with 230 grain jacketed bullets in 45ACP and 124 grain jacketed bullets in 9mm.

Silhouette is my choice for full power .45 acp. 230gr JHP's, Win LP primer and Silhouette makes a really good combo.

WOW, looks like all positive results I'm thinking I will try
Silhouette for my 9mm and 40
Tac for my 308 and 223
Enforcer for my 357
found some enforcer now the hunt for the rest !
Ramshots new reloading guide looks pretty good
I look forward to working up new loads, keep the opinions coming
thanks

People like to find reasons to dislike TAC--it's "dirty," it's temp-sensitive, you can get 8 more fps out of Varget--but it's very hard to beat for progressive rifle loading.

steve4102,
Per my experiments, AA#9 is 4% slower than enforcer, which is probably at 50kpsi or 60 kpsi with 7.62x25mm 110 gr.

I have 22 pistol powders.
The only smell and look matches are [AA#9 and Enforcer], and [Power Pistol and Bullseye].

Power pistol and Bullseye I can only differentiate with density.
Both AA#9 and Enforcer are 14 grains /cc.

In appearance, the Enforcer does seem to have a higher shiny balls to flat balls ratio.
