I wanted to raise my scope on my Anschutz 22LR so I could be more comfortable when I shoot. I put some high BKL rings on and ran out of elevation adjustment at 100 yards. I was shooting low and can add a shim under the scope on the rear ring. My question is will this hurt the scope with a shim under it only on the rear? Don

I find it mildly odd you ranout of elevation at 100yds. You might want to carefully check those rings, something maybe amiss. As for shiming i dont think its an issue as long as you dont use excessive torque.

I agree I don't think it should have run out of adjustment either. I have used these rings on another rifle but took them off because they were to high. These rings are .974 high so that is pretty high as far as rings go but they fit my Anschutz perfect. Don

Not familiar with all the variants of BKL rings, but if the are the same, could you reverse them?

BKL rings cater to the 22LR and air gun fans. They are very good at fitting multiable dovetails found on 22's and air rifles. I did switch the rings from front to back and they were the same. The high BKL rings are .974 high and that is pretty high as far as scope rings go. I guess some of the AR flat top rings are high. Don
