I own a Savage Mark II FVSR and I am also looking for a small youth sized rifle for my daughter. The FVSR already has a 16" barrel, albeit heavy barrel, and is already threaded in case I want her to use the rifle with my suppressor.
I found a used Savage Cub stock for sale and was wondering if the receiver screw for the Cub would match the receiver screw for the Mark II? I know the Mark II has bottom metal for the magazine that the Cub does not -- I figured I could cut that out of the Cub stock.
Any advice? The Cub stock is ~$40 with shipping -- less than a new Savage Rascal or the like but would take a bit of work. If I bought another youth rifle it wouldn't be threaded -- but that wouldn't be the end of the world. Thanks!
