I attended TH101 over the Memorial Day weekend at Southern Exposure.

WOW! :what:

This was a my first handgun class, and I have to say it was fantastic. Randy truly is a genius not only at shooting but instructing. He did a great job at presenting the material at a pace which allowed me to absorb it, while keeping things moving. It was a wide range of stuff but was built upon earlier lessons which meant it was understandable and applicable. He also took pains to communicate the reasoning why we were doing what we were doing, the alternatives, and the pros & cons of different techniques.

Like I said I'm a fairly new shooter (maybe a year shooting consistently). By the third hour of the first day my groups had already tightened dramatically. The course doesn't teach you how to be fast. It teaches you how to make good hits, so you can then practice and become faster but always maintaining the ability to make good hits.

It was more than worth the money. There were people there from all over the country, from first timers (like me) to people who have taken the course six times. The return people were gaining as much as the newbies, only at a higher level. I will be attending again.

I want a Randy Cain practical rifle class real bad.Has to be within 500 miles of central cal. though. Maybe if Tommy G. could organize one in Oct.?:)

It's something I'd like to take also. The only rifle I own at the moment is my 10FP which doesn't really qualify. Maybe once I buy that K31 when my c&r comes in. :)
