Range Day : First Shots with New CZ SP-01

Here is a report on my new CZ SP-01.

CZ SP-01 - 177 Rounds Fired. Sellier & Bellot 124 FMJ, American Eagle 124 FMJ, UMC 115 FMC, UMC 115 JHP, PMC Bronze 115 FMJ. No failures of any kind. Used both factory mags.

This firearm is going to fill the role of "night stand" / "home defense" pistol. I am looking at a rail mounted light to go on it. I have been researching Crimson Trace and StreamLight.

Re: the empty rail on your SP-01, consider seriously a Crimson Trace CMR-203. I have one for my P-01 and absolutely love it, would not want anything else for sighting in low-light conditions such as inside my house at night. Below are some typical 10-12 yard results. The beauty of the laser is that it leaves you relatively free to pay close attention to what the "target" is doing, but at the same time keep the POA precisely where you want it. IME, much better for this purpose than night sights which, for me, require more focus on the sights and therefore less on the target and making that important decision of whether you have to pull the trigger or not. The Green laser is so bright that I don't feel the need for a flashlight on the target.

I was personally looking for a light/laser combo alá the TLR-4, but it has fitment issues on the P01
