Range etiquette question

I don't mind you watching me shoot. Only if i have my AR-50 please stand BEHIND me . The gas stream from the brake can get a little tough to handle! If I have my Sharps then I WANT you to watch my target. I can't see it till the smoke clears!:D

I get a little uneasy when someone else is at the range. I seem to focus better and feel less rushed when I am alone shooting. I guess it is just because I don't want to miss a shot or something and have them leaving saying, "that guy is an awful shot" or " he doesn't know anything about guns." However, most of the people at the range are very friendly and when they notice me doing something wrong, they offer their advice. Regardless, it is a public range and it must be shared with everyone.

Just stifle your gasps of admiration until I finish the string of shots.

I always watch other shooters, at least for a little while, to make sure they're not a safety hazard. If someone like shooter503 is there, then I might watch longer to see if can learn something new. Both of the indoor ranges I use have very large windows directly behind the lanes, so discrete observation is easy and non-intrusive.

I also have no objection to others watching me. In fact, I kind of like it...

You can check out my targets as much as you want---but only when I'm having a "good day":D :D :D . I've been known to swing the spotting scope over to check out someone elses targets occasionally.

And, I'll kinda watch how people shoot as well...But I won't offer advice, unless asked. It offends some people (although they might need the help!). But, for example, on one occasion a guy saw the groups I was shooting, and asked me to try his rifle, and see if it was accurate (he'd just bought it). It was an expensive (but older) target .22, and I couldn't get groups nearly as good as my Marlin 60(and I tried different ammo, some he had, some I had). I didn't really know how to tell him he got screwed, so I just kinda ducked the subject of the accuracy and talked about how nice the condition of the gun was.

And if someone offers ME advice, I listen, I smile....and then if its sounds plausible I might try it...or not.
