You will more than likely need a 1000 yard range finder to reflect on deer at just 400 to 500 yards. Or sometime get a return off trees. It will reflect at 1000 but only off something like a car. And 200 dollars will not get a good one unless you can find a close out sale. Anything under 300 yards and most high power rounds can shoot with in a 8" circle down to 5" so a range finder not needed unless longer shoots will be take'n. I had a cheaper lower powerd model some years back and it was worthless and bought a nikon 1000 yarder and it will return yardage out to around 500 at best on a deer in the middle of open field. Payed abit more for it 5 years ago.
They have several that are being offered on sale for $200.00 or less. Their fall 2009 flier (laying in front of me) has a Bushnell Yardage Pro Legend (New) with a 930 yard range listed for $199.95. There are seveal others listed that may also interest you.
