I posted about these jewels last week. Finally got to the range with them today.

The 1903 Colt was manufactured in 1904. The trigger didn't want to function at first, but it's possible the Eagle grips I installed might have been slightly blocking the thumb safety. Whatever the case, once it started working it didn't fail again. Off hand, at ten yards, I could hold a 2" group through all 8 shots. Certainly nothing to write home about, but then again, for being 105 years old, I guess I'm more than satisfied.

The 1908 Colt is much newer, being a 1933 production, I think. The grouping at ten yards was a smidge tighter than the '03, which I guess I kind of expected. I'd forgotten how "lively" a 380 load can be in a smallish hand gun. ☺

With the Eagle grips on these pistols, I must say they fit my (largish) hands incredibly well. I love these old Colt autos!

For those wondering about the Ace, well, I can report that non-Colt magazines make the pistol VERY, VERY picky. With the Colt magazine and Aguila SuperMaximum ammo, the pistol was really fun. At ten yards I was punching a hole about the size of a quarter, and it just didn't get any larger. (I realize this isn't terribly amazing accuracy, but it sure is fun to do so with no particular care.)

I'm happy.
