My Father had a Bersa 380 . It was a very reliable gun never jammed as i can remember . It did have one problem after about 1,000 rounds the slide craked . But it was sent back to the company and was fine . Imo those guns are great for the money .

Many .380s function better with a round that has a longer bullet and longer over all length. (I had functioning problems with CCI blazer in my Sig 230 because the OAL was just a scootch shorter than most other rounds)

If you have a Bersa that is reliable, count your blessings. About 10 years ago a half dozen local officers bought Bersas because they were looking for a cheap off duty gun. None of the guns would work with WW Silvertips or Federal Hydro-shocks. All those guys sold those guns off and bought something else.

So if you're going to carry a Bersa for social use, find some variety of generic ball FMJ that works reliably and run 1000 rounds through it to break it in, and THEN get a couple boxes of your proposed service load and shoot 100 rounds through your weapon. If it can't do 100 rounds of your chosen service load, you'll have to try something else.

:scrutiny:

Ahh whatever, I'm not going to argue about it, but your statement is misleading and does not represent the norm. Thunder .380's are accurate and have a trigger which belongs on a gun 3 times it's price.

I guess i'm in the minority, I found the trigger too soft and "squishy" for me. I also had problems with the bullet jamming against the barrell and not feeding.

Otoh, it shot very well and was quite comfortable to ccw. I ended up getting rid of it in favor of a mak.
