Well I took my new little pal to the range today.
I was a little nervous because I bought this gun rather spontaneously as my new carry piece and knew nothing about this model Para Ordinance, and I am not all that familiar with .40 caliber handguns. I have shot some but never owned one.
In one word this little gun worked flawlessly. No failures of any kind in 200 rounds. The factory mag and after market mag worked equally well.
What I was really suprised about was the amount of recoil (lack there of). I have read many threads on THR and TFL that say that the .40 caliber has a really snappy recoil, so much so that is a reason why some folks don't like the caliber. With this gun that is completely wrong. The recoil was not much more than my Sig P226...I kid you not.
The Para P10-40 is a compact firearm, however, is all steel which probably helps soften the felt recoil, and the recoil was more of a straight back push than a flip. I'm sure the Pearce finger extensions helped controlability. It sorta felt like when you shoot .38's out of a 6" .357. I was VERY pleasantly suprised.
Follow up shots were a breeze and accuracy was very acceptable. I will probably get better results with a little practice.
I put 200 rounds of factory reloaded .40 145gr. FMJ through her...this was a typical result...a few flyers but overall nice groupings...these rounds were shot rapid to semi-rapid fire, probably about .5 second splits, 5 shots at a time before reload.
I could not be happier that I chose this gun as my new carry piece. 10+1 of .40 caliber in a small package and really fun to shoot!
I will feel very comfortable having this baby on my hip.
