i made a video from my last trip to the range after having replaced the rebound slide spring with a spare 13 lb wolff spring i had left over from a previous spring kit. the DA pull lightens up quite a bit but not too light.
it may not look pretty but i really like shooting this gun. i like the grips on these older smiths. my newer production classic series 586 had beautiful grips but was too thin at the upper part i had to replace it with an ugly hogue rubber grip to shoot it better.
i only go through a couple of cylinders each trip when i try shooting faster without staging so that really doesn't get better but it gives me an idea how much the spread of my shots will be at 10yrds. i shot more of my 148 hr HBWC and a mid range 357 mag load with xtreme 158 gr with cfe pistol. i have to load more 38 spcls. i shot paper at 10 yrds and shot an 8 inch gong at 25 yrds. the DA is very manageable it wasn't difficult to shoot the gong one handed left and right.
