Everyone has a hi point carbine... but what about single-shot
parabellum rifles?

I just thought i´d share :)
cheers, Mp7,

because around here "9mm" is the term for the parabellum,
while rifle calibers are always written like 7.62 x 39

Also the built of the rifle seems very slender compared to
Elefant-Rifles......

My attempt at translation is pathetic, but here is what I got:

Rifle in the caliber 9 mm to offer. Artfully shaped trigger guard, beautiful running 8-kant, elegant body - to name just a few attributes of this very special weapon listed. Loaded, in which the Hahn tense and the sealing block weggeschwenkt is upwards. A technical rarity! The course length is 580 mm, the total length of 990 mm. The deduction is a Dirketabzug standing dry. Note the extensive photographic material to an impression of this brand new state of pearl and technical characteristics to obtain. Our conclusion: rarity and recognize this ornament necessarily auction!

It has rifle sights, not unusual even for the smooth bores. My 9mm rimfire shotgun looks just like a rifle, it even has a hooded front sight. I don't know if it is a centerfire or a rimfire. You can still find 9mm rimfire sometimes here, Fiochi usually makes it.

The illustrated rifle is a Warnant System ("trapdoor") Flobert. I have seen a lot of them in 9mm rimfire shot. At one time there was a 9mm rimfire slug or ball load and I suspect that is what this little gun was meant for. It is nowhere near strong enough for 9mm Para or other modern pistol cartridge.

This particular gun looks like it has been refinished, stock and steel both.

It looks to me, and please please believe me, i am not an expert or claim to know anything about this firearm other than the pics, that this is a shotgun. While it does have rifle-esque sights, i believe the above poster as far as the commonality of this phenomena.

My opinion on this is based on two observations:
1. The stock. From a completely observational status, this stock looks extremely like that of European shotguns (with the exception of the "pistol" style grip). Notice the short fore guard. It seems to me that if this were a rifle (as seems also be the European style) it would have a longer fore grip.
2. Check out the picture of the muzzle crown. I may just be missing them, or they may just be very shallow, but i can find no lands/grooves while looking "down" the barrel.

Ok folks, have at disproving me:)...i'm just putting my observations out there. Thanks!

Double post......sorry folks

and it appears Watson has beat me to it, and has a VAST amount of greater actual knowledge. I'd go with him:)

I agree with Jim Watson.

Definately a Flobert, probably a rimfire 9mm, definately very low powered, and certainly not a 9mm Luger chambering.

Since it does have rifle sights, I would go with the bulleted ball load rifle.

They are, or were, very common in Europe a century ago for informal target shooting and chasing pests out of the garden.

That one right there has been ruined by a modern high-polish blue & stock refinish job.

Interesting input, guys!

Well, some luck B...... got it for like 100$.

That sure is a very beautyful ..eh... firearm( :) )
for that price. I love the looks!

Wouldn´t it be great to have a slender gun like that for
a caliiber like 7.65 x 25 Tok?
(of course built strong enuff to stomach the pressure....)

Congratulations on your purchase Mp7.

Is this your first cartridge firearm?

The good news is that you will probably find ammo for it a lot easier than we do here in the states.

Now if there is a way to get it to Texas, I would pay you a little more than you paid, if you want to make a profit, LOL :)

For others interested, here is a link to a 9mm semi auto shotgun for sale.

Whatever it is, it looks really freakin' cool!
Sign me up for one in .357...

:D

congratz on getting it..im envious dont know what id use it for but i want..sure is pretty

How hard is it to purcuse firearms in Germany? I was told as a child (German mother) that guns are pratically impossible for a civie to get, has the law changed?

..Hmm... unfortunately ( especially for ME ) it´s a misunderstanding:

Some lucky Bastar* got it for like 100$ ... not me.

To get a WBK ( weapons owner card ) u must pass a not-so-easy
hunters test, or be a sportshooter.

Both has to do with meeting in a club full of idiots
and socialising with them in order to get the "stamp"
that suddenly makes you responsible enuff to actually
buy stuff.

But even then - without a collectors license.... you are limited.

(i thought about it.... but the nerd-factor of german hunting society
or sportshooters just grosses me out.....)

Well Mp7, that is too bad. If you ever decide to change climate you would probably find that U.S. might be a good destination.

We too have gun clubs full of idiots, but you don't have to associate with them to exercise our rights of ownership in most parts of the nation.

if i ever get to Texas - i will knock on your door and ask to
do a complete evaluation on your collection! :)

It looks like a rifle to me. Not because I have any real knowledge about these guns, but if you look closely at the muzzle you can just barely see what look like lands and grooves inside the barrel.

If that thing sold for $100, it makes me wonder if a savvy buyer couldn't go over there and buy up a bunch of antique firearms and then resell them over here at a nice profit. Even in a totally oddball chambering like 9mm rimfire I would have probably sprung for it at that price.

A store near here had them literally stacked in the corners; must have had a hundred of the silly things. Many could have been refinished to look like the OP and would still have been a waste of money for $100. They are a weak design of cheap materials.

I think Mp7 was lucky to not have won that auction.
