Is this thing Pimpilliscious or what ? :what:
All it needs now is set of Spinner Mags and a Red Feather in its Purple Fedora .

Gotta love those Jewelled R and D Conversion Cylinders , if you can find um that is . :D $300 for it years ago , bling bling

000_0040.gif

Speaking of Hoopti Guns , this is my Old Silver from Pietta with its fancy pants Lace Wood grips installed . I have four sets of grips for this one gun depending which of my ladies I am tryin to get to the corner for work that day :D Just kidding , I hate Pimps .
Look at the fit of that wood to metal , mmm , deliscious ! Took a lot of years of Gunsmithing to get that good . That's Tru-oil there also . I did those grips about five years ago ?

I get my Sam Yang .45 back today , finally , yeehaaa , they had a safety recall on the action , I guess if ya drop it ( never done that before, yeh right ) it may go off , so they installed anew better designed safety system . They better not have scratched my gun either :fire: ..Now to get Dad to hurry the hell up on my engraved stock for it . I did pester him last week when I called him about the 1860 . Had to remind him tis been six months Dad , jeeeeez man . :banghead: Alabama time I guess ? It aint Burger King I guess , I don' get it my way this time ! Dammit .
He does nice engraving , so I guess it better be worth wait, hee hee hee .
For a $600 stock air rifle in .45 Caliber and a $1,000 worth of upgrades without the stock work, this thing should be pretty dazzling am thinking . He's doin some sort of De Fleur Scroll work and Old School Basketweave engraving on the buttstock and forend on it in the wood , full layout too . This stock I built for it is what he's workin on:

The grip cap and forend cap are Bloodwood , they will turn very dark , blood red man , awsome wood . Thats what she said !

He told me " Son , you know how I work " .......I said " Yeh , SLOW ! :banghead: " ....Dammit :D

So anyway, excited to get that back today, hopefully he'll be done soon too so I can get this thing back together and take it to the range . It takes any of my Black Powder .45 bullets I have or round ball :D ..Needless to say I am itchin to kill with it . Hope to do some Hog huntin with it . It shoots the same fps. as a .45 ACP but out of a long barrel , should be a hoot to hunt with . The first two shots when I got it I ran Hornady RB .454 , shot into a 2x4 at 20 feet , went through like butter , came out like Armageddon :D

Cheerios Ratboy68 , Jaeger out , of his mind

Holy Cow !!

Never seen lace wood. That's purdy stuff ! 'DAt pistola's definately got pimp goin' on. :D

I was wondering if that was blood wood on that rifle stock. And air rifle, huh? And it puts out that kind of energy too? Definately gotta post up more pix of that one later... especially with pops' work done to it.

Count on pics , oh yeh

definately will be postin his work , tis very good . :D
Oh yes , the Sam Yang takes out Deer just fine too , its a power house my friend . I know your not in the Loop of air guns but they hunt Buffalo with air rifles too Ratdog68 , no chit .
I got this one set up with National Match AR-15 sights in back on piccatinny rail , and National match M-1 Garand on adjsutable williams ramp up front , its a killer :D .....Or I got a QD attachable 50mm scope too .

Cheers, Jaeger

PS......Luis and Clark carried an air rifle to hunt and marvel the Indians ( me ) with on there expedition out here, wanna see it ?

Well

I have to find my other pictures, only have the top of the lock of one of the three that was made .

The air resivour is in the butstock , the Hammer was turned when you wanted to charge the gun , but kept the same look as the Flinters of the Era , note lack of Frizzen or Pan .

They also used Air Rifles inthe Civil War, didn't know that did ya !

Jaeger , I am a huge history gun Buff Ratboy

Most Zestful !!! I had no idea those even existed. I figured it was some CO2 charged type of newbie gun just out. Yup.... I'm intrigued now !

it woudl amaze you how long they have been around, since the 13th century I belive , China and Japan before anyone else , go figure .
I got to dig out a pic real quick , back in a minute .

Oh , and the Yang is a PCP ( pre Charged pneaumatic ) bicycle style pump , high pressure though , or scuba tank or Compressor , no CO2 .

Moderator, shmoderator !!! It's a muzzleloader and has an exposed lock doesn't it? It's also about as "vintage" as they come !! Looks kewl !

That's true

it is a muzzle loader front stuffer , just air powered is all .

Jaeger :D

I was kidding anyway , Its a gun , it qualifies for discussion . It is at the roots of the BP lock era anyways .

Lewis & Clark had one on their "Voyage of Discovery". I don't know if they hunted with it, but shot it often to impress the Indian tribes they met on their march, they considered it "Big Medicine". To charge it, you took of the butt stock and planted a concealed point into a tree and with an in and out pumping action, you charged the air cylinder. I think they got 20 or so shots per charge.

Shooting the beautifully engraved Old Silver with those lacewood grips while wearing some alligator leather would be mighty fashionable. ;)
