While resizing some 30/06 brass today with my son, I noticed that on the lower carrier cast piece that the handle arm threads into, was cracked in two places (that explains why it was resizing so hard). I looked into the warranty and it stated that you must have a dated receipt in order for RCBS to honor the lifetime warranty on this product.. I will call RCBS to find out if this is true. The press was a gift a couple of years ago and I do not have proof of purchase.

I have very little RCBS equipment (mostly Dillon). Does anyone else have experience with RCBS customer service? If they suck, I will stick with Dillon and their lifetime no BS warranty as I have done in the past with excellent results on other reloading equipment purchased from them.

Thanks, Strat8

RCBS

I've lost or broken parts on my Rock Chucker, called them and they sent me parts for free.

RCBS's customer service is ever bit as good as Dillon. I have used it many times and never needed a reciept
.
Call them and they will send you the parts nessary to fix you press. Their phone number is on their website. www.rcbs.com

I called RCBS on a die issue about 6 months ago and they couldn't have been nicer. They happily supplied all the parts I thought it would take to fix the die AND didn't flinch when I asked for 3 replacement decapping pins. Then I asked for the screw-on collar for my RCBS kinetic hammer and they sent that too.

They were extremely pleasant, listened and sent all the requested parts at their expense. I was flabbergasted.

I think you'll be very happy if you call.

RCBS is #1 in customer service. They were that way even before Mike Dillon started selling customer direct when he couldn't get along with the big distributors. At least he fashioned his customer service after RCBS.

I once wore out a Rockchucker, after having used it for about 20 years. I sent it back to RCBS and they returned a brand new press within a week. They get most of my business these days.

Hope this helps.

Fred

RCBS has always treated me right. I'll have to say I have rarely needed it, but I know it is there if I have a problem with their stuff.

Warrenty issue

I bought an RCBS press 25 years ago and the frame wore out and now stutters or loacks up during a stroke up ot down. I contacted them and they won't do anything for me without the reciept. Then my other RCBS press broke where the handle threads into the press, need reciept was the response. Same thing with a .270 win die that was out of spec., need the reciept. I'm always very receptive and respectful on the phone and clear that I am a long time comitted customer. I'm pissed and can't believe they would treat any customer like that much less a long time dedicated RCBS one. From now on I'll buy another product name brand. I don't get that from Leupold or other companies within the shooting industry.

gamestalker,
You are the first person I've ever heard of who needed a receipt.

I LOST a few parts to my RCBS press during a move and was calling them to BUY replacements. Even though I made it clear I lost the parts they sent me the parts FREE and didn't even charge me shipping. I have never hear of them asking for proof of purchase from anyone I know who use their products and I know a lot of people who do.

I, too, have never heard of anyone getting asked for a receipt.

I usually deal with RCBS via e-mail. But, I usually know exactly what I need. I don't like having to wait for my call to be answered, even if it is for only a few minutes. Make a list of anything that is wrong, from a worn spring, powder hopper you can't see through, etc. They will send you replacement parts at no charge. It is a true no BS warranty.

Strat8, give 'em a call or send them an email and explain your situation about the press being a gift and your don't have the receipt. My guess is they will take care of you.
I broke a couple parts on a hand primer (my fault I told them) and they sent replacement parts N/C, didn't even ask about a receipt or anything.

RCBS rocks, I have never been allowed to pay for a part I needed....I tried to buy a scale part I lost and they wouldn't let me.....Then I mentioned I liked the ball handle on my brothers new Reloader press compared to the bicycle handle on my old faithful RockChucker....they sent me a ball type handle just because I said I liked it and wanted to know how much....I bought another set of rcbs dies that day...... and am about to get a mold for the same 32 win special.....

EVERYTHING on their presses is guaranteed forever. I have a Jr. and a Grand shotshell press that I bought USED. I have called and emailed them for parts and they send them promptly, in the multiple quantities I ask for. No shipping costs, no anything - they are top-notch IME

Another old thread, bumped by someone with a low post count,
product bashing, stirring the loyal product troops.

Why?...smells like spam to me.

Moderators, thanks for locking that Penn bullet thread...now it will go away, forever.

Just last month I messed up my primer arm because I wasn't paying attention to the postion of my primer feed tube (another discussion for another day). I called rcbs and they were great. I was calling about a replacement part to be sure to get (buy) the right part. The service guy just sent me one for free. I promptly sent them an email telling them how impressed I was with their company.

You are the first person I've ever heard of who needed a receipt.

More than once they have replaced decapping rods damaged through no fault of their produce and they cleared a stuck case once or twice. no charge and no receipt required. Wonder if they are contacting RCBS or the dealer who sold the products?

Are the newer RCBS presses made in the US?

Troll-anyone smell troll??

As stated-look at the low post count-look at the COMPLETELY opposite treatment the OP says that RCBS is giving him vs anyone else on this forum. I call BS+I call TROLL....:cuss:

Maybe he doesn't own a press, and is hoping for a freebie?

RCBS has sent me free parts to fix the decapper an old/obsolete die set

I called RCBS this morning to order and pay for a 135 Gold-Dot bullet seating stem for my old 1975 .38 Spl/.357 die set.

Had one in the mail free 5 minutes later.

RCBSuper Service

Count me on the "RCBS is great company to do business with" side.

I called them to purchase a ball for an Ammo Master I bought out of a firesale. They shipped me a handle for free even though I told them I thought it right that I pay.
