Who has the stated primer tool? I just bought one of these tools two or three weeks ago. I am wanting to prime some 223, but I cannot get the small seater plug to tighten. The plug goes so deep, then the tool that came with it cannot grab it anymore to lock it down. I put the large one back in with no issuesI cannot getting small primer plug to get tight. Any help would be great.

Thanks

I finally got it tightened, but I had to use tweezers. Anyone else have this issue?

If I remember, you should have received a wrench that fits over the punch and down into the hole. Mostly looks like a pin with a hollow recess in one end.

Ditto for the large punch.

Check with RCBS if you did not get them.

Tweezers work.

Mine does the same. I took the socket tool to the grinder and removed a little off of the tip and now it works fine. Don't remove too much...or else you won't be able to use it for the large primer stem.

Yeah, I got the wrench with it. Basically, the wrench catches the large plug with the outer most part of the wrench. Deeper inside, the wrench gets smaller to catch the small plug. It seems the distance is too great to catch the smaller plug until it gets tight. If I had a spare wrench, I bet grinding it down a hair would solve the issue.

I will be calling RCBS for another wrench. Thanks for the responses. I appreciate it.

Had one. Sold it and went back to my original RCBS hand presses. The universal was a pain in several ways. Brass popped out. Brass wouldn't line up right. Got tired of jacking with it and sold it.

I do like the square tray though.

The square tray is da bomb! Federal primer boxes are so big, one reason why I bought it.

I haven't had any problem switching between the two plugs with mine.

It should have come with an hex key that you use to lock the handle in the closed position. This keeps the ram fully extended while using the tool to tighten the plug in place.

Yep, came with a hex wrench, knurled tube style wrench and small and large seater plugs. I think I will shave a bit of metal off the wrench.

For me, every once in a while, a case would pop out of the universal holder if the primer pocket was tight or a crimped not removed.

I found giving a case little twist after it was between the jaws of the universal holder, it would center up on the primer.

I have found brass 410 shot shell hulls do not stay in the universal shell holder. The rim of the hull does not provide the jaws enough grip. I use a Lee Auto-Prime for those.

I have two of the priming tools so that I do not have to change them back and forth.

I wish Lee still made the original Auto-Prime though.

I have one and like it a lot. Everytime I have to take it apart to clean or change the primer plug I get out the instructions that came with it. I don't take mine apart enough to remember what I did the last time I worked on it. :)

I bought 2 of 'em so I could leave one setup for small and the other for large. I'm lazy like that. One came with a good wrench, the other not so good.

Yeah, I'll call for a new wrench. I can't afford to have two laying around.
