My S & W 915 9mm, somewhere already were worn away. I don’t want to strip the old paint off and cerakote it. Can I just buy a touch-up gun blue such as “ super gun blue” from Dick’s to put there or it is a useless repair because the "blue" will lost again pretty soon . I think 915 slide made by steel .

I already attached two pictures in this topic*" Is S & W 915 9mm worth to buy?"

http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=694779

so I was not allowed to attached again

Thanks!

I did, but the system still found I already attached these pictures. I still
don't understand how it can be found.

Mmmmm?

Did you buy it to fondle & look at?

Or to carry in a holster & use it?

If the latter?
Any money spent on a new finish is money wasted because it will then be a re-finished gun of less value with the same wear pattern on the new finish.

Fuggedaboutit!!
Find something more important to worry about.

I tried “super gun blue” this afternoon. I felt the result was not too good because I only can put “blue” in a very small area , if I put more bigger, it will be uneven color , just like I put some black paint there. I gave up to continue. Now I admit I shouldn't do that. Worn is pretty normal.

"Honest" wear, gives the gun character. You do not need to reblue it your intent is to carry/shoot the gun.

If this were a Colt 1911 or a Browning Hi Power, I still would not refinish. It is what it is. Just care for it and prevent rust.

This condition also allows more leeway in spinning 'war stories'. LOL
