Thinking about buying a S&W 915. Gun is used and I normally replace the recoil spring in used guns with a fresh one. Problem is finding a 915 recoil spring. I do know where to get a Model 910 recoil spring. I know the 910 makes use of some of the same parts in the 915, so I was wondering if the recoil spring is compatible. Is the recoil spring common with the 5906, as well? I can get those too. Thanks in advance.

The factory recoil spring is 14lbs. If you plan on shooting lots of +P ammo, you might want to opt for a heavier spring. Wolff sells springs up to 20lbs. Here is the link http://www.gunsprings.com/SemiAuto/SmithWessonNF.html#Recoil

BTW it you have big hands like I do you might want to invest in a set of hogue grips. I have a model 910 and the addition of the hogue grips reduced the diameter of my groups!
