I have had about 250 rounds of Federal 10 mm Lead RN cartridges that I accidentally ordered thinking the bullets were FMJ. My only remaining 10 mm is a Glock 20, which isn't supposed to be fed Lead RN.

Can I pull the Lead RN bullets, dump the powder, and then reload the primed case with FMJ's and fresh powder? There would be no reason to de-prime and then re-prime these cartridge cases would there?

I would suggest to go ahead and shoot them and just watch for leading if indeed you have a poly barrel. I shoot a Glock 21 with lead bullets and have never had a pressure problem and I check the barrel every 50 rounds.. I also shoot a Delta Elite exclusively with 175 gr lead bullets and again never experienced leading in the Colt barrel.

If the brass is FC headstamped throw them away. If it is Federal stamped just shoot them. Watch for leading, every mag or two check the bore, and just burn them up.

Just take a bore brush and rod to the range with you and after a couple magazines run the brush through the barrel a few times, just to make sure you're not getting a buildup. That's much easier than pulling them down, and more fun, too.

I've got about 11,000 rounds of Federal brass and it's good brass. You should get quite a few loadings out of it, depending on how hot you load your rounds.

Hope this helps.

If you do decide to reload with jacketed bullets, you will have to bell the mouth again. The bullet won't fit into the mouth without the chance of crushing the case during seating.

How about just selling them to me for a reasonable price and buying what you really wanted? :p :neener:
