Just so you don't feel neglected, I had a loose link pin that would fall out when field stripped. FLG whacked it with a sharp punch to stake it in place.
I just can’t leave this 1911 alone. I cut the white grips for access to the mainspring pin and still reverted back to my wood grips. Maybe a white grip on one side and wood on the other side.
Kidding.
Yay! Got it completed today. Cold windy day made cold stiff fingers and I got in a bit of a hurry (nerves) but still outshot the plastic pistols. Great instructor and friendly fellow shooters. I gotta do it again in 5 more years.
Not too bad for a frozen old man using WW1ish gunsights.
Classic pistol, hard holding, especially w/those sights. Never could shoot the 1911A1's and then I shot a 1911.....love at first sight. Amazing how much difference that arched housing makes.
