Seems like ever since the Illinois State Police 'upgraded' their website I can't even get registered to get to the application for FOID or CCL. My account worked at one time, if I remember that far back, but ever since they 'updated' their site ~January of this year any time I try to get logged in it says:

"Your registration is under review by the Illinois State Police. Until your registration is approved, access to this site will not be permitted. Please call the ISP FSB Call Center at 217-782-7980 with any questions"

You call the number and you get an automated system with the slowest talking guy ever which eventually tells you to email them instead and then hangs up on you. My girlfriend's 19 year old daughter tried to register to get to the FOID application and got the same thing.

Has anyone been able to successfully access the site without getting the review error? Has anyone ever gotten a reply from mailing [email protected] ? If so how long did it take? I see the ISP has been bragging lately about finally getting their unprocessed applications down but if no one is able to put a new application in that number couldn't do anything else even if they only processed one a day.

And yes, I get that IL sucks but I live here so I'm going to have to deal with that. Just also sucks that I did my part and have all my classes taken and paperwork assembled for a CCL but can't get to the application to actually get the ~3 month process going.. Until the ISP lets me. And there is seemingly no way to contact anyone to make this happen other than an email address I haven't been able to get anything other than an automated response from.

Anyone else dealing with this? Have a way to get it completed? Have a phone number that goes to someone who can actually help?

TIA,

Greg

This is the Legal Forum so general rants, complaints, rending of garments, etc., about bureaucratic shenanigans will be off topic.

Does someone have any useful information about how Illinois law works and whether the OP has any meaningful recourse?

OP,
I recently moved out of Illinois and while living there dealt with delays in my carry permit. The Illinois State Rifle Association was able to provide some helpful suggestions. The link to their contact page is below. They obviously can't correct what going on but may be able to provide suggestions. Best of luck with this.
