Or with his brass model which matches the gold trigger. I replaced the .096 aperture with a .050 for more precise shooting. Works great, even with my old eyes.
My recommendation is for a receiver-mounted Williams 5D or Foolproof receiver ("peep") sight. The Lyman equivalent works as well. I don't want a scope detracting from the intrinsic handling qualities of my 39 and I appreciate the quick and sharp sight picture I get with a good receiver sight for my 65 year old eyes.
