Although I have my CCW company policy forbids weapons in the work environment, the Rent A Wanna be cop will protect us. Then I receive this "High Priority e mail" from corporate and they are taking this seriously, so what do you think carry anyway or be a sheepie, hay maybe they will run out of bullets by the time they finally get to where I work.:fire:

THIS IS IMPERATIVE AND MUST BE FOLLOWED!! YOU MUST REMOVE ALL PRESERVATIVES INCLUDING PHOSPHATES AND MONOSODIUM GLUTAMATE FROM ALL YOUR PRODUCTS!! IT IS UNHEALTHY!! YOU WOULD ACTUALLY SELL MORE PRODUCTS BY SHORTENING THE SHELF LIFE!! WE KNOW WHO RUNS THE COMPANY. ALL COMPANIES THAT PACKAGE ANY SUPERMARKET BOUGHT FOOD MUST FOLLOW THIS OR WE WILL KILL PEOPLE AT YOUR COMPANY AND OTHERS!!! START FOLLOWING, THE CORRECT, HEALTHY WAY!!! PUTTING TOXIC THINGS LIKE THOSE MENTIONED ABOVE MUST STOP!! WE ARE WATCHING THE PACKAGING, YOU MUST START RIGHT AWAY OR WE WILL KILL AND MAKE PEOPLE SUFFER THERE!!! YOU MUST LEARN THE RIGHT WAY!!! THIS INCLUDES THE DINERS CHOICE PRODUCTS!! ALL COMPANIES ARE BEING WARNED!! REMIND THEM!! WE ARE SERIOUS ABOUT THIS AND WE HAVE PEOPLE GLOBALLY TO ENFORCE WHAT WE HAVE SAID HERE!!! THE FDA IS ALLOWING THESE POISONS TO BE PUT IN THE FOOD, THEY WILL BE EXDECUTED ALSO!!! THEY MUST LEARN THAT HEALTH AND ALL NATURAL PRODUCTS ARE ALL THAT MUST BE ACCEPTED, USE NATURAL WAYS TO PRESERVE THE FOOD OR DO NOT PUT ANY PRESERVATIVE WHATSOEVER IN ANY OF THE FOODS YOU MAKE, PERIOD, THAT'S ALL!!!

Carry anyway , just dont tell nobody. You can also put your conceilability to the test at the same time. "CARRY ON my brother"

So carry anyway.

I have carried against company policy and I would do it again if the job was good enough. The worst thing that can happen is not getting fired, it is getting dead.

Why don't you talk to the people in your company responsible for the "Rent-A-Cop Wannabe" and his employer. Maybe you can talk them into springing the extra $5-$10/hour for an armed guard. Don't take your frustrations out on the poor guard for trying to make a buck.

The e-mail is hilarious and I wouldn't worry about the author. As a reminder to carry when legal though, it still works.

my question is, has your workplace notified the proper authorities about these threats?

Carry. I used to work at Johnson Controls. They had a no carry policy. Never stopped the nut job who came in and shot his ex or something to that effect. I also sat 2 cubes over from another whack job that tried to kill a hooker at his apt. Cut her up pretty good. He seemed normal enough. Carry.

I've carried at almost every place I worked whether the company allowed it or not. Now that I'm self employed I continue the practice, despite the fact that some of the businesses I go to are posted "No Firearms". I've got clients that are left wingers and I carry when I go to their homes or offices too. So far I've never had a client figure out I was carrying a gun if I didn't want them to know.

Ah, I see you got a memo from the happy folks at The Center for Science in the Public Interest.

I would just say company policy be damned and CCW anyway, but is there a good chance that there will be an FBI presence at the office?

Also, is this rent-a-cop going to have a magic wand (metal detector)?

Assuming you don't work in a state where your employer forbiding carry carries some legal weight and/or you won't likely be searched I'd say carry.

I wouldn't worry too much, they couldn't even spell executed. "THEY WILL BE EXDECUTED ALSO!!!" Carry, Worst comes to worst, you will be prepared.

I'd ask your management if they have made any arrangements as far as security for your parking area... The enviroloonies tend to like bombs, which aren't as evil as guns... Kinda like proletarian firecrackers - oh, the joy...

Hmm, i really dont know what to say about the email except id love to see Monosodium Glutamate aka MSG taken out from all foods as im allergic to it amd it gives me migraines.

If your dress code limits the way you can carry, consider getting a dayplanner that contains a holster or a lunch box with a false bottom. Don't know what kind of entry security you go thru, I worked for a company that had big signs up about no weapons but never a check. I had to wear a polo shirt (with company logo) and slacks and felt that even deep inside waist band carry was not possible so I just got a dayplanner notebook and carried in there. I had a locking drawer on my desk and would drop it in there if I was ever at a meeting or a trip to the wash room.

My brother is an exec and has a briefcase that has an extra slot in the side for a gun to hide in. He has to wear shirt and tie, and although wears a coat in, general form is to remove the suit coat as soon as one is in ones office.

If you have to carry a laptop in and out, there are a few laptop cases that have holster compartments too..

If this seems too pricey, I have a plain zip shut 3 ring binder that I added a uncle mikes holster to when I first started. Not fast, but unless you are the prime target in an office shooting, usually you got some time to prep.

Weirdos...

Speaking of liberals....This reminds me of the "crazy" vegetarian teenager I caught ripping notebook paper out of a book and throwing it in the street as he walked. I approached him and made him clean up his mess on my street... the whole time he said who cares with all this pavement and all these houses, we are polluted anyway... I took "the low road" with a few choice words a step towards him and boy that street got clean quick :cuss:

I can predict some results if the author of that letter starts playing with explosives.

I like the crux of the letter though. Quit killing people or we're going to kill people.

Carrying at work is a choice you have to make.

Do you have metal detectors? Do you go into restricted area and if so, do you have enough notice to dis-arm without anyone knowing or finding where you hid it? An unexpected trip to a new restaurant or the post office with co-workers can be "awkward".

The smartcarry is a great "deap concealment" holster.

It is somewhat slow to draw from and reholstering is worse but with a pair of pleated slacks, it is very easy to conceal. Make sure the band in the back does not ride up.

Is that a gun in you pants or are you just glad to see me:what:

Ryder: My stapler could take a man's head clean off. :D

Milton Waddams: [talking on the phone] "And I said, I don't care if they lay me off either, because I told, I told Bill that if they move my desk one more time, then, then I'm, I'm quitting, I'm going to quit. And, and I told Don too, because they've moved my desk four times already this year, and I used to be over by the window, and I could see the squirrels, and they were merry, but then, they switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler, but I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn't bind up as much, and I kept the staples for the Swingline stapler and it's not okay because if they take my stapler then I'll set the building on fire..."

:D

Your choices seem to be either (1)find a new job or (2)dont carry at work. Why are people advising to carry against a companies policy?

If its a loose policy... well I suppose that changes things, I do not know your companies culture. But it seems like the outcome from the advice on here is that you will be fired or you will quit and get a new job.

Crikey.

Might be time to forward a copy of that letter to the boys in blue. I was 'officially' prohibited from carrying at work until the Nickle (Or is it Nickel? I forget.) Mines school shooting a few months ago wherein a deliveryman who had been going to the place for ages decided it would be a good idea to shoot it up.

Now I'm going to have everyone else cowering under my desk looking for protection if the same thing happens here or near here. Of course, nobody else will carry themselves except for our ex-wireman (who the boss just fired prior to the shooting).

Be careful...

They are going to save people's health by "exdecuting" them! Killer logic.
I'd carry (not because of the threat email, I found it quite humorous).

Here's what awaits me...

Situations where immediate dismissal may be warranted include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Possession of weapons or firearms on Company property.
