Anyone have any tricks on how to put the bolt back together easily? I can reassemble the M14 and M1 Garand bolts easily, but the carbine bolt is harder.

I have ordered the bolt tool from Numrich Gun Parts. Hopefully that will help.

Buy a carbine bolt disassembly/assembly tool.

While you CAN do the job without the tool, it's easier with the tool.

While the carbine bolt LOOKS like the M1-M14, it ISN'T.

In the M1-M14 you can just push the extractor in and out.
On the carbine you CAN'T, and attempting to do so will break the extractor or the extractor plunger.

The bolt tool holds everything in place, AND orientates and pushes the extractor plunger in place so the extractor can be slipped in place.

Without the tool, you lock the bolt in a vise and use punches and three hands:eek: to hold the ejector assembly in place, and push the extractor plunger into it's hole while you insert the extractor, all the while keeping the plunger oriented the right way.

To quote an old saying: "Pay the two dollars". In this case...."Buy the bolt tool".

I disassembled and reassembled my M1 bolt without the bolt tool.
Like my near-fatal car wreck, I do not recall how I did it: sometimes
amnesia blocks you from devestating memories. the horror, the horror.

Wait on the bolt tool to arrive from Gun Parts. Its cheaper than
damaging the extractor claw and losing the spring and plunger.

Now you tell me I lost the extractor plunger and spring Sat out of mine. It needed a extractor and I decided a new ejecter nice also What I got now is a torn down bolt and a club. Where can I get the plunger /spring and tool at. I want my baby back up and running
