I received my Dillon 550b today from Graf's and was surprised that there weren't any nuts/bolts to attach it to my work bench. At first I thought, "No Problem" and went through my misc assortment of bolts. Alas, I didn't have any 1/4" that were long enough to go through my bench.

Why wouldn't they include the nuts/bolts needed to attach to the bench?

Fasteners are seldom supplied with equipement. Rather than trying to guess what everyone needs they let you figure that one out on your own. You don't get mounting bolts when you buy any other type of tools be it other loading tools, bench grinders, drill presses, etc. Just one of lifes little burdens.

Jeez...do you suppose it might JUST be the fact that they don't know what sort of bench it'll be attached to??

I've seen steel benchtops, aluminum benchtops, plywood and OSB-board benchtops, wooden tops 1/2" thick and wooden tops FIVE INCHES thick.....what sort of fasteners will work for all of those?

Yay, good ol' Kentucky Chrome! All purpose stuff of life!!!! Cures hangovers, gout and keeps ya reg'lar ta boot!!!!!:p

I like your style, FieroCDSP!

I don't rember if my Rockchucker came with bolts but i do remember that I had to hit the hardware store to make it fit the bench.

I think in Dillon's catalog they now sell the mounting hardware . .. it's like $5.49 for 4 bolts nuts and washers. I'd rather buy my own. :)

Meanstreaker,

Congratulations on the 550! You are going to wonder why you did'nt take the leap up much sooner.

Neither RCBS or Dillon supply mounting hardware, per se. Too many possible mounting configurations, I reckon.

Enjoy you new press.

years ago when I ordered my 650, I paid a few bucks extra and ordered the mounting bolts.

You're right - Dillon should've asked you how thick your bench was and sent the hardware! :D

But all this is to your benefit because while you're at Home Depot you can buy some of them plastic knobs that make powder adjustment so much easier!
