Sunday I went to a local show and bought a police trade 228, no NS, with one standard cap SIG mag and 3 Promags for $426. Gun is 92.3476% with very little finish wear on front of slide. It looks almost shot not and has new style grips with SIG SAUER on them. I know it's a little thing but I prefer that style.
Today I went to a local shop that usually gives me a pretty fair deal. I traded an inox Berreta Tomcat I couldn't shoot straight, and a Glock 26 for a 95% SIG 220 with new style grips. I also got $30 back. I realize there's a lot of police trade in's out there but I don't think this is one, it looks real good. I haven't had a SIG for a while, the last one was a 229 in .40 which seemed kinda top heavy cause of stainless slide. Both the 228 and 220 have the steel slides with pinned breech blocks and seem more "natural" in weight distribution.

"Stainless is steel". Oh yeah, I forgot. Only 2 Glocks left a 23 and a 19. The 19 is wending it's way to Glock for the E model frame replacement. No more guns. No more guns. No more guns. No more guns. No more guns. No more guns. No more. No more. No more. No.............

You now have the best DA/SA .45 ever made, and one of the very best compact 9mm CCW pieces of all time. Good choice...

That should read:

No more guns. No more guns. No more guns. No more guns. No more guns. No more guns. No more. No more. No more. No, More. No, More. No, More. More. More. More. More. More....

Sounds like you got bit by the Sig bug

From what I heard, the reason the 229 is a bit top heavy compared to the 228 is that they beefed up the slid to accommodate for the .40cal.

I'm still wanting a 245. ;)

Promags are cheap and I agree that they don't have a good rep.. I did get one full capacity SIG mag. with the gun and I'm gonna get a couple more. CDNN had 228's for I THINK $369?. I've had good luck with them but I hate buying used guns sight unseen. For all I know my 228 could have originated there. My 228 was $405 plus tax. Probably $25 more than if I had one shipped to my FFL from CDNN. The stainless 229's were developed to handle .40 cal..
