Recently purchased M1A

Hello all,

Long time reader, first time posting.

I recently purchased from a friend a Springfield Armory M1A Standard with black synthetic stock. Very lightly used, approximately only 500 rounds of brass cased ammo went through her.

Included with the rifle:

3 additional 20rd mags
Sadlak aluminum scope mount
Remington 4x -12x scope (came off of a R700 combo purchase)
Soft rifle case
Standard cleaning kit/gas key tool

$825 for everything. I think I got the better end of the stick, but I am not as familiar with M1As as with ARs.

Did I score a good deal?

"...needing a new set of dies..." Hi. Make sure the sizer die is a full length die. You don't need an SB.

Concidering the price of just a reciever ($600-$750 depending), USGI ops rods are over $200, bolts are at least $100 now. So, no you got ripped off and I, being the nice guy I am, will give you $850 right now.

Consider the brand R scope a place holder, but otherwise you did fine. Note that a good barrel on a .308 Win is good for an awful lot of rounds...well done.
