I know people swap out the guide rods and springs in a Glock 20, but do they also do that in a 29? If so, why, and with which strength spring and which guide rod? Thanks!

Yup, best to find a problem prior to fixing it, otherwise one is more likely to just create a problem.

The G29 is great the way it is, don't worry, go shoot!

If you are going to be shooting standard factory ammo (watered down) then I wouldn't change a thing. If you're going to be loading your own "real" 10mm stuff or DT & BB then I would go up to a Wolff 21lb spring.

Good advice I'm sure.

But be advised that shooting your own loads out of a Glock and/or using non-Glock after-market parts will void the manufacturer's warranty.

Just so you know.

Easy

I've never used an after market rod / spring on my G29 and shoot mostly VERY warm or full house loads... never a problem.
