I've got a Colt version. The short of it is that I like it. The Gold Cup is the one I'd get.

I find that review to be very suspect as well - sounds like it was a direct result of advertising dollars. I have never known an Umarex-made product to be anything but potmetal junk. On the other hand, almost all of the feedback I've heard on the GSG (and the identical Sig version with the jacked-up price tag) has been positive.

Gun Tests Magazine accepts no advertising dollars from anyone, they are strictly subscription supported.

From what I understand they do not accept "test guns" from manufacturers either and buy their test guns off the shelf at local gun shops.
