A lot of good movies in this thread, though some of them I wouldn't really call "gun movies". Just my opinion, but a "gun movie" is a movie that shows guns being used in a realistic manner. Something where the actors and production staff obsviously put some thought into which guns are used and how they are portrayed in the movie. Die Hard has lots of guns in it, but they're just props for action. Not really a "gun movie" IMO.
The Way of the Gun - great reloading and CQB tactics
Heat - one of the few instances in a movie where an actor press checks the gun, and some great reloading scenes
Blood Diamond - Leo carries in a holster, shoots well, and actually checks his gun a couple times. The scene where he wakes up, realizes he fell asleep around his prisoner, and the first thing he does is make sure he still has his pistol AND he checks the mag and chamber to make sure it wasn't messed with. Very smart. Also when he has to give his pistol up in the beginning, he drop the mag, ejects the round and locks the slide back. Something you don't see often in movies. Leonardo DiCaprio as an actor gained a lot of points in my book just for his weapon handling in Blood Diamond.
Collateral - Of course the controlled pair scene is a classic and very well done.
Generation Kill - A miniseries, not a movie, but very accurate portrayal of guns and the invasion of Iraq in general. Great and realistic gun handling, clearing malfunctions, cleaning, etc
I just really like when movies or TV show guns in a realistic way, or something that isn't seen often. There's an episode of X Files where Scully is talking on the phone and has her Sig broken down for cleaning. Not very often you see a TV show cop actually cleaning their pistol.
