So, the Mrs. Has a Birthday coming up, and has hinted that a rail and/or optics (red-dot) would fit the bill quite nicely for her M1 carbine. A very nice Inland from 7-42, if that has any bearing on related components.
So, a little digging turns up something like this :
http://www.amazon.com/UTG-Deluxe-Carbine-Mount-Complete/dp/B002GO04PE
Which fits right into the rear dove-tail.
Anyone try it ? Find something better ?
As to the optic itself, her main issue is that she just can't use the irons that well. Pretty much end of story. Obviously not a serious piece for long range work or anything like that, just something she can use and use well, and that holds up !
A 2x red dot would be great, but I dont think the rail space alloted allows for much more ( like something in the AR family where the red dot and magnifier take up considerable space on the top along the guns' length).
Any recommendations ?
A "system" ( rail and optic) that worked(s) great on your M1 would be the best recommendation, but any information you could pass along would be great !
