I recently bought a S&W Hand Ejector/M&P/Pre-Model 10, 4th Change (so it's a 5 Screw K-Frame). It has a 5" barrel and I've been looking for a holster for it. I was wondering if you all had any advice you might be able to give me. I'm almost leaning towards 2 holsters and I'm leaning towards leather for both:
1) Full or half-flap - can be bulky/hard to conceal but would keep the gun well protected from the elements. I was leaning towards the M1917 holster but I wasn't sure if the revolver would fit given the 5" barrel.
2) Something more concealable but also comfortable. Maybe an OWB leather pancake holster or a slide style holster of some kind.
As with anything, the more money than can be saved the better but I am also sometimes willing to pay for quality. Anyone have any good suggestions?
