..... my old S&W 469 9mm. I have large hands. I really like the HK P30L. Other choices could be Beretta 92FS or CZ75 P01, or Sig P226. My priorities are 1. best hand fit, 2. minimal barrel flip, 3. takedown ease, 4. durability.

I traded in a Glock 27. .40 caliber in a subcompact was too difficult for me to control. I have a bad spine and bone problems..... so 9mm HPs are my choice for HD.

I want a fullsize semiauto.
Which of these 4 (HK-P30L, Beretta 92x, CZ75-P01, or Sig P226) would you choose?
TIA for your thoughts.
Ray

They are all really good guns. Any choice is going to be based on how it feels in your hand and how well you shoot it, really - or on price if you find one substantially cheaper. If I had larger hands, I would also be interested in the BHP. Those are wonderful, and the double stack grip is just a wee bit too large for my comfort. It is probably going to "feel" closest to the CZ. I have had my check book out in the gun store twice over the years for one, and just had to stop once I got honest about the grip size vs. my hand.

I'm going to say the Beretta is the easiest to shoot of the guns you mentioned. Or one of the new Sig's with the milled slide, which are much heavier than the older sheet metal ones.

Ooohh, you made that hard. I have fired the 92, CZ, and Sig. I don't own the CZ or Sig, but liked both. All three are accurate, reliable, durable, and parts are readily available.

I own the 92, but that is because of military time. The CZ and 92 are in the same price range while the Sig is more expensive.

Is one better than the other? I don't know. But I can tell you that the Beretta 92 fits all of your criteria. Which would I choose? The 92. It is the only one of the four that I own.

Those are all great choices, I own at least 1 of each (except the HK). The P01 is the smallest, but actually fits my hands the best ... I have big hands, but long skinny fingers. The P01 just disappears into my palm. The 226 is probably the biggest feeling gun, also the smoothest in my opinion. If I had to pick a favorite it would be really tough. The Beretta is a very unique gun, the way it takes down is really cool ... and the skeleton slide makes the gun feel much smaller than it is, it puts all the weight in your palm instead of out front. If you want to carry it, the P01 would be the best choice. For a range gun or one that doesn't need to be concealed I'd probably go for the 226. But the Beretta is a gun that everybody needs to own at least once in their life because it's so unique.

I do have a HK45, it's extremely ergonomic and the P30 would be a great choice as well. It does have the worst trigger of any guns in this discussion, IMO.

Thank you all for your opinions. Many people suffer from "fevers"; boat fever, gun fever, etc.
I've shot the 92fs and it is excellent. The CZ seems very similar. The Sig while it is an excellent piece it just doesn't say Yes to me, personal taste - wierd.
Now the P30L does appear very sexy and ergonomic but I do not have an opportunity to either hold one or shoot one. The Sig and HK prices make me hesitate (old pensioner).
My Smith could be rebuilt but I'd like to try something new. The only other 9mm I have is a serial number matching 1913 Luger P08 that is the better shooter.
I want a large gun for my hands and to minimize muzzle flip. I had read that the HK P30L had negligible vertical flip due to its size and rotary lock.....
Again, thanks again. Happy Memorial Day!

i think you're confusing the P30 with a pistol which isn't on you list...the Beretta Couger

i own the Beretta 92/96 and the Sig 226 and would have a hard time deciding between them. the trigger of the 226 can be tuned nicer than the 92. if it fits your hand, i think the Beretta runs softer and smoother due to it's non-tilting barrel

i tried out the CZ P-01 for a couple a hundred rounds and i didn't care for the way the light slide recoiled, but the trigger cleans up nicely

i tried a P30 for about 100 rounds and was very impressed by the feel of the grip...having the adjustable grip panels is very cool...but i liked the trigger stroke the least.

to summarize:
P30...best feeling grip
226 and P-01...best triggers
92...smoothest action and least recoil
