Hi, I'm in the market to buy a new .22lr semiauto. I figured I was pretty sure I wanted a Buck Mark.

Now, I'm just not sure of which way I should buy it.

Should I get a higher end model eg contour, target, bullseye, hunter. (I like the way the contours look)

Or should I get a base model (camper, standard) and upgrade the grip and barrel?

If upgrade is preferable- which and what? Handgungrips.com for grips? Tactical Solutions for the barrel?

Just a little confused as there seems to be so many combinations.

Ok, I'm wondering if this would be a good idea:

Buckmark camper
Tacsol 4" (or 5.5" fluted) threaded matte black bbl
Tacsol integrated rail
Tacsol matte black aluminum grips
Tacsol compensator

and then a red dot, any recommendations and/or thoughts on this set up?

No experience with the Buckmark but I really do enjoy my Ruger MK3 Target. You might want to try over at Rimfire Central for more info on .22 pistols.

In my opinion get a Target model or Field and leave it be, they're good enough as is, then shoot the heck out of it.

I am in the same place. My next gun will be a .22 pistol, and I really want a Buckmark. My feeling is to get the Hunter model and call it a day with that.

I bought a Buckmark Camper about 5 months ago. figured I would upgrade it a little at a time.
Well, there is no need to upgrade anything, it shoots great. I will upgrade the sights soon, my eye are the problem. So go ahead and get the better sights when you buy it.
no need to upgrade, well, the other barrels and grips look great. so..?

Buckmarks are way easier to takedown and clean than the Rugers are. Just my opinion.
