How far do you think I can humanely take deer with a Daisy Red Ryder? The only problem I see is the rattling noise the BB's in the magazine make. Any idea how to solve that problem? What grain BB should I use? Should I put a fixed or variable scope on the rifle? Should I try to apply some sort of camo finish to it? Where should I aim at the deer to make as quick of a kill as possible? But I don't want to ruin too much meat either.

By the way, has anyone here taken a deer with a Daisy Red Ryder?

If you have, please post some pictures. If I get a deer I'll post the photos ASAP.

I'd say out to about 50 feet if you use a rusty steel BB and place it in a soft spot like his lip...Of course, you have to wait about 3 weeks for him to die of tetanus.

Well, the rattling BBs is not really a problem. If you become proficient with "rattling" up deer with the BBs in the magazine, you can always hit him in the family jewels at up to maybe 100 feet.

Then, while he is cussing and barfing, hit him in the head with a ball bat. Works every time. WARNING!!!! If you do miss, you will have a very mad and upset buck wanting to use you with his rack in many and varied ways. Oh, the humanity of it all! I don't wanna look!

I did take a rabbit once ~ hit him in the eye.

The lower lip would be the one to shoot, less than 50 ft! The BB striking the lower lip will cause it to strike the lower teeth, thus causing the lip to swell horrifically, and thus causing total occlusion of the nostrils, causing suffocation! Not a pretty sight to watch I might add!

I think you would probably be the first.

Might be quite the challenge.

The BB doesn't matter. After you fire that first shot, the deer would be laughing so hard you could just walk over and club it.
