image.png I scored this scope off of gunbroker and would like to get a copy of the instructions that came with it. Anyone familiar with these scopes?
It's the civilian version of what was on the original M40 sniper rifle that the Marines used early in Vietnam Nam. The parallel lines at the top are used to ascertain the distance to target (civilian - deer. Military - torso of man). Then the range is depicted on the bottom scale.
I have some info downloaded from the web, just looking for whatever's out there.

I found the instruction booklet that came with my Dad's 2-7 Accutrac. PM me your email address and I'll try to scan it and send it to you.

The stadia lines are set up for 18", the average size of a deer's body. The scope came with 4 turret dials for different cartridge trajectories.

Unfortunately, the only real advantage to that system is rangefinding with one particular target size. I don't have one but I'm pretty sure the system is based on the inversely proportional nature of the 2 upper line subtension (measurement) changes with magnification changes (other scope companies have had similar systems over the years). The plex reticle can also be applied as such if you wished, and it gives you 2 subtension units to use, and can be applied at one magnification (usually the highest power), and then use the mil-ranging formula with each subtension unit.

image.jpeg Thanks for the info guys. I'm looking forward to mounting it on my Model 1917 and gettingl a feel for the system. Using 18" as a guide (body of deer/mans torso) , I'm going to see how it works at known distances out to 600 yds. If necessary I'll make my own markings on the elevation turret, but I'm shooting pretty standard loads (30-06 150 gr. SPBT with 49.1 gr. of 4064 = approximately 2700 fps) so hopefully the scope has either a B or C cam in it. This is the rifle with a Lyman scope.
