It's your gun of course so you're certainly free to do what you want.
For me abuse damage is worth "repairing" while fair wear adds character. The picture seems to show fair aging and use wear more than it does damage due to abuse and neglect. So I'd vote for an oily rag or a one time use of some Flitz polish to restore a bit of shine to the old girl and from here on out just the usual cleanings and wipe downs with an oily rag.
I'm a stickler about keeping primary guns rust-free and or resistant. But whatever you are doing with this one, you don't seem to have a corrosion problem. And I doubt this is your primary. Either way, I'd leave it as it is.
If you want to clean it up a bit, a very light treatment of Flitz will do the trick. As it stands, nothing but honest wear on your gun; if it were mine I would leave it as is.
I don't think it would be a sin to refinish it, but I do like the charector it has now. I once had an older shotgun refinished, and after it was completed it lost some of it's romance. In the end it is your posession, do with it as you please.
